This
page is a work in progress as we are still tracing back
the owners of the original car parts. It is doubly
difficult in that the chassis came from one source and
the body came from yet another.
Frame:
Purchased Jul-16-06 through Ebay $5500.00 From Marvin S. Smith,
643 Alexandra Hwy
,
Alexandria

37012
.
Described
on Ebay as:
"This
1922 truck is well on the way to restoration. The
truck was running when I bought it last year and I
have been working on the cosmetics since.
The truck has obviously lived indoors most of its
life is not rusted out. I can provide a notarized
bill of sale, there is no title."
The
body was a wooden pick up as was the cab. It was so
amateurishly done that I decided to discard it and
replace it with a touring style body.
Marvin
indicated he purchased the truck the year before but had
no time to continue the restoration. He brought the
truck to me on his trailer from
Tennessee
.
Engine:
(VIN # 9779026)
After checking the VIN number it turned out that the
engine was produced in April of 1924. In fact 191,999
engines were produced in April of that year. So this was
a 1924 Ford.
The
engine and transmission were crated and all its
components were sent on to Synder’s
Antique Auto Parts,
12925 Woodworth Road
, New Springfield, Ohio 4443, for a complete overhaul
and rebuild as new on 11/ 9/ 2006. The cost including
shipping was $6015.50
